Netflix Releases the Teaser Of ‘Leila’

After Selection Day, Netflix has released the teaser for its next book adaptation series, Leila, which will premiere on 14th June.

Leila, directed by Deepa Mehta, Shanker Raman, and Pawan Kumar, is based on a dystopian novel by Prayaag Akbar, of the same name. Leila is the story of a world where purity is above everything; it is the law. Shalini, living in this future India, is on a quest to find her estranged daughter, evading the city authorities and alley muggers. The mystical teaser promises a thrilling journey through the unknown world.

In Director Deepa Mehta’s words, “Leila is about awareness, about paying attention, about looking at the world around us and asking pertinent questions about our future.”

Leila stars Huma Qureshi, Siddharth, Rahul Khanna, Sanjay Suri, and Arif Zakaria, among others. The six-episode series was announced at Netflix’s ‘See What Next’ event held in Singapore in 2018, with various other original series such as Typewriter, Bard of Blood, Baahubali: Before the Beginning, and Midnight’s Children.
