What started with allegations against Utsav Chakraborty, previous comedian with AIB, escalated quickly when Tanmay Bhat released a statement earlier stating that he knew about Utsav’s misdemeanor with women. This led to a massive outrage on social media against Tanmay, courtesy of the ‘Me Too’ movement taking hold in India, prompting AIB to initially release a statement in acceptance of their mistake.
Gursimran Khamba is accused by a survivor of sexual harassment in 2015 and 2016, who has decided to keep her identity anonymous. He issued a personal statement on his Instagram handle regarding the accusations.
This major allegation against the founding pillars of the popular AIB has shed a light on the harassment that takes place in the industry, without anyone talking out loud about it. After Nana Patekar, Vikas Bahl now Tanmay Bhat has been caught in the worldwide ‘Me Too’ movement.
