Trailer Out for MX Player’s Pawan And Pooja!

MX Player has released the trailer for Pawan And Pooja, a web series that explores love and its conditions and durability with 3 different couples of same name. Find out all about it!

We grew up listening to fairytale love stories that always ended with a happily forever after. But is that true in the real world? Relationships seem to be uncomplicated at face-value, because love is meant to be unconditional, unbreakable and unquestionable. But, sometimes – love fails only to be reborn again, it breaks bonds to forge new ones and it destroys lives but still brings hope!

This Valentine’s Day, MX Player brings you uncomplicated love stories with the launch of its latest MX Original SeriesPawan And Pooja. This relationship drama explores the lives of 3 couples- all coincidentally named Pawan and Pooja, who, at different stages of their lives discover that their love is indeed conditional, breakable and questionable.

Bound by trust and now in their 60’s Pawan and Pooja Kalra (Mahesh Manjrekar and Deepti Naval) decide to make a ‘Regret List’ and mark off all that they couldn’t in their young age. Battling a stagnant marriage in their 40’s, Pawan (Sharman Joshi) and Pooja Mehra (Gul Panag) have loved none other but each other, however- that love is no longer the same. In their 20s’s, Pawan Srivastav (Taaruk Raina) and Pooja Maheshwari (Natasha Bharadwaj) love their online friends and the virtual world above themselves but for how long? These complex relationships and their even more complex emotions are all brought alive in this 10 episodic series, which examines the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: Love.

Speaking about the character, Deepti Naval said,I do believe that no relationship flourishes without trust and my character Pooja Kalra had so many layers of emotions that I simply had to give the series a nod.

Mahesh Manjrekar further added saying,What drew me to the character Pawan Kalra is his zest for life and his honesty. This drama series brings alive the complexities in relationships across three couples of different generations and I really liked its narrative.

Sharman Joshi elaborated saying,Unlike the quintessential romance story, we’ve tried to bring out the ‘other’ side of love, something that is not always highlighted in life and the aim is to have the audience relate to the couple of their age and go- hey, that’s me or that’s what my relationship entails!

Essaying the role of his wife Pooja, Gul Panag said,My character Pooja Mehra is feisty, she’s a strong headed independent woman and she does not let conventions rule her. She always wants to make things work, no matter what the cost and this is trait of hers is something that I could relate to as well.

Playing the youngest Pawan Srivastav, Taaruk Raina said,All of us have a Pawan and Pooja within themselves- it is the story of every couple in love; the phases, complexities, disagreements that they face. Our characters resemble people who you may know in your social circle and I’m sure a lot of youngsters will be able to empathize with our digital dilemma.

Natasha Bharadwaj concluded saying,Pooja Maheshwari is caught up in the web of life where the digital world takes over real human connections. Watch me, Pooja going through the rigmarole! I’ve had an unbelievable time shooting with my directors, producers, the entire cast and crew! We bring to you unconventional love!

Directed by Shaad Ali and Ajay Bhuyan, Pawan And Pooja will premiere on MX Player on 14th February.
