Netflix India Announces Four New Exciting Original Films for 2020!

Netflix India has announced four exciting original films for 2020 in collaboration with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. Spread over different genres, the films are set to feature some big names. Here’s all about them!Four Indian film directors Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Karan Johar, and Dibakar BanerjeeNetflix India has announced four new exciting original feature films in collaboration with four bigwigs of Bollywood, namely Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar, all set to release in 2020. These upcoming projects include entertaining stories spread across genres like suspense, mystery, drama, as well as an anthology.

Anurag Kashyap’s film, Choked, will follow a hapless bank cashier whose life takes a massive turn when she discovers a source of unlimited money choked in her own kitchen. The cast of Choked includes actors Saiyakmi Kher and Roshan Mathew.

Vikramaditya Motwane’s film is titled AK vs AK, starring Anil Kapoor alongside Anurag Kashyap in the lead. AK vs AK revolves around a filmmaker who kidnaps the daughter of a movie star, and while the star tries to rescue his daughter, the director continues filming the desperate and frantic attempt in real-time as part of his next blockbuster hit movie.

Producer Karan Johar’s project, The Othe’, comes out of the deal between Netflix and Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment. With a talented cast including names like Shefali Shah, Manav Kaul, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Nusrat Bharucha, and Jaideep Ahlawat, The Other will be a four-part anthology focused on different relationships and their complexities, wherein a third person (the other) is the one who breaks or completes a relationship. The directors for the stories are yet to be announced to the public.

Lastly, Dibakar Banerjee’s directorial film, titled Freedom, is set to be a star-studded affair. Beginning 25 years in the future, the film will chart the history of a middle-class family in three different generational stories that are intertwined with the personal and ideological histories of India. The ensemble cast includes names such as Naseeruddin Shah, Manisha Koirala, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin, and Neeraj Kabi, in pivotal roles.

Netflix seems to be stepping up its game in 2020 with these four original web films. It’s going to be an exciting year for sure!
