Netflix has released the trailer of its first series of 2020, Jamtara, a big tale of cybercrime from the small town of Jharkhand, directed by the award-winning directed Soumendra Padhi. Details below!After Netflix unveiled its massive investment plan in the Indian market, it announced three Originals with one of India’s largest entertainment network, Viacom 18, for their digital subsidiary Tipping Point– Jamtara, She, and Taj Mahal 1989. Among these three, Jamtara’s trailer is out, set to be released on January 10, 2020.
Based on true events, the 8-episode series tells the story of India’s phishing capital, Jamtara, the town where most number of cyber crimes in India takes place. Youngsters excel in conning people into giving their personal credit information, robbing them of their money, one account at a time. The series tells the story of one such group, who get embroiled in the politics of conning, the simple yet smart thievery getting complex and deadly.
Directed by Soumendra Padhi, Jamtara features Amit Sial, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Aksha Pardasany, Sparsh Shrivastav, Monika Panwar, Sarfaraz Ali Mirza, Anshuman Pushkar, Kartavya Kabra, among others. The series will premiere on 10th January in 26 foreign languages across 190 countries.
