Netflix’s next Indian Original ‘Selection Day’ to come out on 28th December
The popular international platform, Netflix, has recently announced the release date of its next Indian original, Selection Day.
The show, produced by Seven Stories Ltd. and Anil Kapoor Film and Communication Network, is based on Aravind Adiga’s Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, and will premiere on 28th December 2018.
Selection Day is a coming-of-age story following two teenage brothers, Radha and Manju Kumar, both of them trained by their strict father who wants his sons to become famous cricket players. However, Manju hates cricket and when the family moves to Mumbai, he finds other interests and moves away from cricket. Also, he befriends Javed, the cricket rival of his brother Radha. Javed is a free and confident boy, both concepts which Manju never got a chance to experience. The emotional story will be about ambition, love, acceptance from family, and discovering your own path in life.
The role of the two brothers will be played by Mohammad Samad and Yash Dhoyle. The cast also includes Mahesh Manjrekar, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rajesh Tailang, among others.
