PUBG Mobile to Release Hindi Web Series, ‘Dosti Ka Naya Maidan’; Unveils Trailer

PUBG Mobile, the online game that has taken the country by storm, seems to be venturing into original content creation as a part of its new strategy in India to keep players entertained. Here’s what’s coming…

The popular online multiplayer game, PUBG Mobile (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), which has taken India and the world by storm, is now moving beyond its traditional gaming platform arena and venturing into original content creation, with a first-of-its-kind five-part Hindi web series based around the game.

Titled Dosti Ka Naya Maidan, the web series will bring to the screens five different stories that will celebrate the unique friendships that develop between players coming from different walks of life, while interacting on the battlefield.

According to Tencent Games, the publishers of PUBG Mobile, each episode will revolve around a fresh storyline, following different players in the arena and the tales of their friendships that foster and bloom on the battlefield, as they fight with determination, overcome personal challenges, and battle with enemies on their way towards victory. After all, in the words of the developers, “What is PUBG Mobile without our epic friendships?

Dosti Ka Naya Maidan will be released during the Christmas season. The cast for the web series will be revealed soon, and Tencent Games has announced that they will release ‘behind the scenes’ videos for the web series as well. The web series will be filling up the occasional pause between the games and keep the players entertained on the app itself, so they can continue playing the game after watching, without leaving the app.

This marks the first time in the Indian gaming world that a game has produced an original web series for the fans and the gaming community. The web series, being shot in Hindi, will resonate with the PUBG fans in India, and is expected to increase its appeal to the regional audience.
