Baba, Biscuit & Plumber by Nipun Dharmadhikari: Stand-up Review

Nipun Dharmadhikari bhadipa

Comedian: Nipun Dharmadhikari.
Channel: Bharatiya Digital Party aka Bhadipa (YouTube).
Language: Marathi, English.
Release Date: 3rd January 2019.

Catch Phrase:

“Zalay asa ki break madhe tyanni mala sangitla, mala yache paise milnar nahiyet. Ani he kay mala farsa avdat nahiye. Tyamule hasavu shaklo nahi, tar I don’t really care.”

  • One of the prominent name and face of contemporary Marathi film/theatre industry and Bhadipa, Nipun Dharmadhikari, with his first sentence establishes his unparalleled wit and ironical sense of humor. He doesn’t need to be boisterous to make you laugh; his monotonous, somber comic delivery can make you hysterical with laughter and nodding along with his cleverly structured jokes.
  • In this particular piece, Nipun gives a comical twist to the absurdity of advertisements and porn and also explains how in the age of Yogi being the CM and Baba (the Patanjali one) turning industrialist, finding topics for stand-ups have become easier.
  • This particular piece might not make you laugh out loud throughout, but it will definitely leave a constant smile on your face, due to Nipun’s aforementioned ironical/sarcastic sense of humor and sharp wit.

  • Kahich nahi na rao. I mean nothing- unless you don’t understand Marathi, there’s nothing stopping you from watching this stand-up.

The Final Verdict:

For a witty take on our family’s beloved Patanjali and our beloved (ahem ahem) porn, Baba, Biscuit & Plumber is definitely worth a watch.
