Gandii Baat Season 2 brings stories of 4 different women from the rural area, being at the other end of a life ruled by lust. Will they rise against this patriarchal dominance or just be another helpless woman?

  • All 4 episode of this season has unique, intriguing concepts, 4 women with four diverse lives but all ruled by sex and linked by one factor- they are not weak, damsels in distress- they have the spine to take their life and turn it around to suit their will.
  • The bawdy theme of the series is matched perfectly by the equally titillating cinematography.
  • Piyush Mishra’s voice starting the series- with his attention-grabbing voice and equally amazing lyrics- and also ending it with his voiceover is definitely a bonus.

  • If graphic, sexual scenes are shown to push the story forward, the necessity is justifiable. But throughout the four episodes, there are numerous moments when there was no need for nudity and still that’s all you get. The concepts are extremely good if only they’d been executed in equal measures with all the graphic content.
  • Also, there are moments when you go ‘Seriously?!’. The bizarre, incorrigible moments ruin the slight introspective touch of the story.
  • Apart from a few handful ones, the ensemble cast proves to be overcompensating, giving it a glossy vibe.

Bottom Line:

Fascinating storylines, the execution of it could have been much better.

  • Sachin Mohite, founder/director of Jaasvand Entertainments Pvt.Ltd., has directed and produced a lot TV series and was also the director of the first season of Gandii Baat.
  • Apart from the title track by Piyush Mishra, ALTBalaji had also released an item number titled Dil Behla Dun Tera, starring Scarlett Wilson, Neetha Shetty, and Flora Saini, that summed up the series quaintly.
