Gandii Baat is set in rural India but is far from any folk dramas. As the title suggests, this not so rural stories are both bizarre and outrageous. The series has a total of 10 episodes with different, mind-boggling stories. From erectile dysfunctions to threesomes, role-playing and snakes, this web series is, in producer Ekta Kapoor’s words, “not for the faint-hearted”.

  • The web series is based on a bizarre yet very unique concept of blatantly and boldly putting forth sexual encounters.
  • It is a courageous attempt at bringing something new to the world of web entertainment,
  • The characters are quite eccentric and different in their own way, bringing something new to each story.

  • Despite the attempt at being bold, the scenes come off as cheap and even outrageous.
  • The stories seem too exaggerated with no basis of reality whatsoever.
  • It seems as though sex was used as a unique selling proposition to attract audiences.
  • North Indian people have been stereotyped and their culture is used in an inappropriate manner.

Bottom Line:

Gandii Baat is a bold, outrageous, mind-numbingly shocking web series. It is good for a one-time watch.
